At Pippins Preschool, we aim to provide your child with a well-rounded, nurturing preschool experience, which will support their learning and development. We want every child who walks through our doors to feel happy, secure and cared for throughout their time with us. There’s a reason we’ve been called “a hidden treasure in Sawston” by our former parents! To learn more about what previous families have thought of their child’s experience at Pippins, visit our Testimonials page.
In order to give your child the broadest range of experiences possible, Pippins offers weekly Forest School and music sessions, as well as a variety of interesting visitors and cultural celebrations throughout the year.
Our preschool has been running for over 20 years, and many of our staff have decades of experience in schools and Early Years settings. Our staff members are highly trained and dedicated Early Years professionals. In addition to their professional qualifications and experience, all of our staff are parents themselves, so we are all sympathetic to the unique joys and challenges that you are experiencing with your own child!
Pippins benefits from two play rooms, where children can explore the craft area, book corner, home play area, dressing up corner, and a wide variety of toys and activities that are available every day. Outdoors we have two secure and private outside play areas with trees, a large sand pit, a sensory area, mud kitchen, climbing bridge, covered pavilion, water and sand trays, open-air theatre, summer house, seating areas, and much, much more!
We offer half day and full day sessions. Please have a look at our Daily Routine page for more details. All children are welcome, and we accept children from 2 years 6 months old up to 5 years old. We use the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) to guide your child on their way to a successful transition to school and meet their individual developmental milestones.
We are happy to accept Early Years Universal Funding, Extended Entitlement (30-hours funding), 2 year-old funding, tax-free childcare account payments, and also the old system of childcare vouchers for those families who are already registered under that system. Please visit our Fees & Funding page for further details on the types of funding which may be available for your child.
If you’d like to learn more about how Pippins can support your child, please do give us a call. We would be happy to answer any questions you have. If you’d like to reserve a place for your child at Pippins, please submit a waiting list form, and we will be in touch.
Government funding and hourly fees only partially cover the cost of running our setting. We therefore rely on fundraising to provide the best possible environment for our children. This means we can bring visitors into the setting, can ensure resources and learning materials are kept up-to-date, and can offer our staff additional training above and beyond the minimum required level.
