Due to the COVID-19 crisis, we regret that we cannot currently offer to show you and your child around Pippins. However, Pippins remains open every day to continue supporting as many of our children as possible. Therefore, please ring us or email us – someone is in the office and available to chat with you. We are still accepting applications for September 2020, so please do submit a waiting list form, and we will be in touch very soon. We look forward to meeting you and your child as soon as circumstances allow!
At Pippins Preschool we aim to make everyone feel welcome and provide a caring, happy and secure setting supporting the development, learning and care of your child. Our preschool has been running for over 20 years, and many of our staff have decades of experience in schools and Early Years settings. We put your child at the heart of everything we do.
Pippins benefits from two large play rooms, where children can explore the craft area, book corner, home play area, dressing up corner, and a wide variety of toys and activities that are available every day. Outdoors we have two secure and private outside play areas with trees, sand pits, a sensory area, climbing bridge, covered pavilion, summer house, seating areas, and much, much more!
We will work towards the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS), and guide your child on their way to their successful transition to school. All children are welcome, and we accept children from 2 years 6 months old up to 5 years old. We are open from 9am-3pm every weekday during term time. Children are welcome to attend from 9am-12pm, 12pm-3pm, or a complete 6-hour day. From September 2020 we will also be trialling a new Early Birds provision, open from 8am – 9am each morning.
We are happy to accept Early Years Universal Funding, Extended Entitlement, and 2-year old funding. Please visit our Fees & Funding page for further details on the types of funding which may be available for your child.
Pippins is proud to be managed by an elected voluntary committee, ensuring that all major decisions are made by our elected parents and carers.
Government funding and hourly fees only partially cover the cost of running our setting. We therefore rely on fundraising to provide the best possible environment for our children. This means we can bring visitors into the setting, can ensure resources and learning materials are kept up-to-date, and can offer our staff additional training above and beyond the minimum required level.
Join AmazonSmile and Easyfundraising and you can collect free donations for us every time you buy something online. It won’t cost you a penny extra so please help us to raise funds: www.smile.amazon.co.uk
Thank you to all those all supported Pippins on our last bingo night on Friday, 7th February at the Chaplefield Way Community Centre. We raised over £200! This is being spent on replacing and improving resources for the children.
We hope to hold another bingo night later in the Summer term, if and when the COVID crisis has passed and it is safe to do so. Same format as previously.
Watch this space for when the date is announced!
