Sports sessions on Monday mornings are temporarily suspended while we find a new provider.

We offer a weekly sports session at Pippins, on a Monday morning. This, along with Forest School and Music, make up the weekly rota of Special Activity Sessions which are available to your child. We ask for a supplement these sessions, due to the extra costs involved in providing this experience at Pippins.

Our weekly sports session is led by a sports coach. These sessions offer our children a wonderful introduction to a variety of sports and games that they will encounter at school, as well being an enormous amount of fun! Sean helps our children develop their gross motor skills with lots of running, jumping and hopping games, circuits and obstacle courses, as well as skills in ball handling, following instructions, and taking turns.

Participating in sports can have huge benefits for children, including improving their health, physical development and emotional development. Our weekly sports sessions allow Pippins’ children to grow in self-confidence, develop leadership skills, build friendships, improve resilience, as well as practice sharing, taking turns and maintaining a positive attitude. Not only that, but children who participate in physical activity also tend to sleep better!

A growth mindset is incorporated into sports sessions, teaching children to focus on trying their best and the importance of practice, rather than winning or achieving goals. This is an important skill to develop that will aid our children through all of life’s challenges.
