Do you have a set of alphabet and numbers fridge magnets at home? Print this Letters & Numbers Sort Page from Primary Playground, post it on your fridge, and let your child practice recognising and sorting their letters from their numbers.
During the coronavirus pandemic, Pippins staff began assembling this Home Resources area to help support our families through lockdown. We wanted to ensure that all the children in our community continued to have access to fun, enriching activities and learning experiences, even while the government was asking most of us to stay at home. To date, we have posted over 150 resources in this area, which you can use at home with your children. These activities are meant to engage and inspire you and your children, not to make extra work for you. Therefore, please pick and choose only those activities that you feel are most suitable for your family.
Happy playtime!

If you fancy some messy play, but have little ones who put everything in their mouths, try this amazing spin art activity from Babble Dabble Do, which uses yogurt and food colouring for paint. All you need is a large pot of yogurt, some food colouring, a bamboo skewer or pencil, some paper, a spot of hot glue or tape, and a large plastic tub (or bathtub, garden, driveway, etc. to keep the mess off your walls!).
Join Jackie from Musical Bumps as she leads the action-packed song ‘I am the Music Man.’
Then Jackie reads a lovely rhyming story about a boy who only wants to wear the colour red, called ‘Barnaby Bennett’ by Hannah Rainforth.
Song and story time! ♥️

Sing along with Jackie to ‘Horsey Horsey’ and practice your percussion with rhythm sticks. If you haven’t got any rhythm sticks at home, wooden spoons, pencils or chopsticks will also do the trick!
Then Jackie reads the children’s classic ‘Shark in the Park’ by Nick Sharratt.
Song and story time. ♥️

This kid-friendly Tortilla Pizza from CBeebies is an easy lunch option that your children can (mostly) make themselves.
You will need:

It’s a pet-themed Musical Bumps today! Get up and dance, clap along, or grab your shakers as Jackie sings ‘My Dog is a Good Dog.’ Then she reads all about a cat named Colin in ‘Colin and The Snoozebox’ by Leigh Hodgkinson.
Song and story time ♥️

Grab some laundry pegs and whatever interesting scraps of material you have in the house and let your children experiment with making their own Homemade Paint Brushes. This activity comes from Babble Dabble Do.
Do you have a budding fairy at home who is desperate to stretch his/her wings? This post from Let’s Play Music recommends some great classical music tracks to inspire your children’s imaginations and get them moving. Just add a sprinkle of pixie dust!
